Now, why am I writing this? I say, I say, Steve McCurry had clicked a picture which is below, in Bombay, 1995. Steve’s below one and my above one both have similarities: both are clicked from the inside of the four-wheeler. There are two kinds of begging in the pictures. In Steve’s one begging is due to helplessness and in my one begging is due to force of social system. Now Bahuroopis don’t make their traditional work, some are doing so, but their number is not more.
This can be said coincidence. On 1st October I saw Steve’s picture in ‘Photography Then and Now’ (page no. 169, year 1998) published by ‘The National Geographic Society’ which reminded me my one and then I felt to publish it on blog with Steve’s one.
Picture clicked by Steve
'There are two kinds of begging in the pictures. In Steve’s one begging is due to helplessness and in my one begging is due to force of social system.'
ReplyDeletewhile juxtaposing the pictures with your above observation, i find your Steve's subject making a pathetic appeal on the viewer and thereby sensitizing at the plight of the helpless people like hers
while your jolly-looking subject, if left on his own and no support from the text, tells neither - no 'helplessness', no 'force of social system'.
i believe the visual should do the talking and not the blogger.

ReplyDeletedo you always write like this?
do you ever get any friendly complaints of comprehension from the people who really want to take you seriously?
could you please paraphrase your comment in more familiar phrases for us, the people having lower IQ than yours.

ReplyDeleteDoes running a well-established website like

I'd like to start a blog so I will be able to share my own experience and feelings online.
