Folk-instrument Failed Our Future / રાવણહથ્થાથી હણાયા (1 Picture and Text)

Thanks VSSM for giving chance to capture this picture

Above person belongs to Bharathari, a nomadic tribe of Gujarat, India

Traditional occupation : To sing 'Bhajans' - devotional songs with 'Ravanhaththo' - a stringed musical folk-instrument publicly and to get livelihood from people
Present sources of livelihood : To sing film songs and devotional songs with 'Ravanhathto', unorganized laboring, begging. People taste has been changed due to technology like mobile instrument, internet, i-pod so they are not interested in songs sung by bharathari.
Financial condition : worse, most of bharatharis dwell in huts made with mud on waste land or uncultivated land
Education : worse
Population : they are scattered in Gujarat so not on papers as certain numbers

We should tray to educate these people. Also we should see that they can do some other work for survival and earn name for their Art.
